“It’s just me and my sister now.” David had just picked a fight with another youth an hour before Bible Study, and was sharing what had set him off. “My dad died…last month. I didn’t like what he was saying about my dad.”
David has a lot going against him. Both he and his sister had been floating between foster care and juvenile institutions when the news of their father passing made it to them. David was now attending our Bible study and looking for answers.
David’s story is all too common with the youth behind locked doors, but we get to share the life changing message of Jesus Christ with them through our Juvenile Justice Ministry. We don’t always have the answers, but for David and others like him, it’s the relationship that counts.
